Create templates for organization roles
You can create templates for granting and maintaining permissions for organization roles in 10Duke SysAdmin. The templates are global: you can use the same templates for all organizations.
Instead of granting permissions separately for every organization role of all your organizations, you grant permissions to the templates and associate them with roles as needed.
To get the exact combination of permissions needed for each role, you can associate different templates with different roles, and also grant additional permissions directly to the role itself, if needed.
The system provides a default “OrganizationAdmin” template, which is used for the default OrgAdmin role that is automatically created for every new organization.
Create an organization role template
To create a template:
-
In the left sidebar, go to ROLES AND PERMISSIONS > Organization role templates.
-
Select Actions > Create. A dialog opens.
-
In Name, define a name for the template.
-
In Description (optional), write a short description.
-
Click Save to create the template.
-
In the template table, select the new template. The details open below.
-
On the Role permissions tab, grant permissions to the template.
Next steps:
- Associate the template with new or existing organization roles, which will inherit the permissions from the template.
Edit an organization role template
Changes to a template’s permissions affect all organization roles that inherit permissions from the template.
To edit a template:
-
In the left sidebar, go to ROLES AND PERMISSIONS > Organization role templates.
-
In the table, select the template you want to edit. The details open below the table.
-
On the Details tab, edit the details and click Save.
-
On the Role permissions tab, click Edit permissions and edit the permissions granted to the template.
-
For users who have an organization role that inherits permissions from the edited template, changes to the template’s permissions typically take effect within one hour, depending on your 10Duke Enterprise configuration.
Delete an organization role template
Deleting a template removes the template’s permissions from all the organization roles that inherit permissions from it.
To delete a template:
-
In the left sidebar, go to ROLES AND PERMISSIONS > Organization role templates.
-
In the table, select the template you want to delete and select Actions > Delete.
The changes take effect immediately for users who have an organization role that used the deleted template.
